IsiBaya (18 Mar 2013 - to date) is a South African soap opera which is produced by The Bomb Shelter and airs on Mzansi Magic DSTV channel 161. The princial cast of the show includes Siyabonga Thwala, Bheki Mkhwane, Thembi Nyandeni, Pallance Dladla, Mampho Brescia, Nomzamo Mbatha, Jessica Nkosi, Sdumo Mtshali, Bongani Gumede and Menzi Ngubane. The show is often credited for pioneering an age of telenovelas is South Africa. Shortly after IsiBaya went on air, hit telenovelas came to varied success, most notably Uzalo which airs on the exact time slot as IsiBaya on SABC 1.
