Alfred Ntombela (born 3 April 1972) is a South African actor. He is popularly known for his roles on Leon Schuster films Mama Jack as Shorty Dladla and Sweet and Short as Alfred Short. He began his career with a kids programme called Ikhaya Labantwana - which was a huge hit in the early ‘80s. He did the programme for five years and it eventually became a multi-language show, combining English and Zulu.
Alfred Ntombela was born on 3 April 1972 in Vosloorus, Ekhurhuleni in the Gauteng province of South Africa. His mother got pregnant when she was young and unemployed. She left his dad before he was born since his father was an albino and she feared she would be ostracized by the community for having a child with a white man. When he was a few weeks old, his mother abandoned him, and his mother’s uncle’s wife took him and raised him as her own.
