Kabelo Petrus Motha, popularly known as Kabza De Small, was born on November 27, 1992, in Mpumalanga, South Africa[1,2]. He grew up in Pretoria, after his family relocated there shortly after his birth[5]. Kabza developed an interest in music at an early age, and by the age of 10, he was already making beats and writing songs[4]. He started his professional career as a DJ in 2009[2].

Kabza De Small is a South African DJ and record producer who plays a major role in the amapiano genre of house music[1]. He is also a member of the Scorpion Kings, a music group[3]. In 2016, he released his first album titled “Avenue Sound”[2]. Kabza gained international recognition in 2018 after the release of his song “Umshove”[1].

Kabza De Small is often referred to as the “King of Amapiano,” a subgenre of house music that combines airy synth pads, bright piano melodies, and low-tempo rhythms with elements of jazz, lounge, and deep house[9]. He is not married but is in a long-term relationship[4].
