Joseph Shabalala (Bhekizizwe Joseph Siphatimandla Mxoveni Mshengu Bigboy Shabalala; 28 August 1941-11 February 2020) was a South African recording artist. He founded the world renowned Isicathamiya super group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, in 1960 and led it until 2014 when he retired. During his tenure the group won four Grammy Awards and was nominated for a further fourteen.
