Dr Nandipha Magudumana is a 29-year-old South African born medical doctor, entrepreneur, and founder and CEO of Optimum Medical Aesthetics Solutions [1]. She opened the surgery in Sandton in 2017 and specializes in affordable cosmetic surgery treatments [1]. She is also the founder of VitaPush and co-owns Arum Holdings with two other women, which is focused on healthcare consultancy and IT services [3].
Magudumana started Optimum Medical Solutions mainly to get capital to help her study further and to help other black women enter the medical services market. She saw a need for African people, especially black women, to enter the medical services market [4].
She has gained a reputation as a celebrity aesthetics doctor and is based in Sandton [6]. She claimed a body shortly after a fire in a correctional facility, but it was confiscated by police for further investigations [6].
Magudumana is also known as “Dr. Nandi” and has a significant social media following [10]. She has been accused of being involved with Thabo Bester, also known as the “Facebook Rapist” [2], who is a convicted murderer and rapist [2]. She is believed to have helped him escape from prison in May 2022 [6].
Magudumana’s brother, Nkosinathi Sekeleni, has accused her of cheating on her husband with Bester and leading a messy and dangerous life [10]. She has been suspended from practicing as a doctor by the Health Professions Council of South Africa [9].
