The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (23 March 2008 – 19 April 2009) is a British television comedy-drama based on the novels of the same name by Alexander McCall Smith. The television series was produced by the BBC in conjunction with HBO and premiered on 23 March 2008 with a feature length pilot episode starring Jill Scott as Mma Ramotswe with Anika Noni Rose, Lucian Msamati, Lucian Msamati, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Desmond Dube. The first season featured seven episodes include the 109 minutes pilot, the show was not renewed for the second season, and despite talks of future feature film - nothing has materialised to date.
