Ndaba Mhlongo was a South African actor and choreographer. In 1988 he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Choreography on Mbongeni Ngema's Sarafina!. Ndaba Mhlongo starred in the 1984 critically acclaimed comedy film, Upondo no Nkinsela alongside Masoja Mota and Joe Mafela. However, it is his work on 1977 comedy fim Inyakanyaka that has earned immortality; his portrayal of Mshefane has has multi-generational reach in South Africa and it is by far his best known and most revered performance.

Ndaba Mhlongo was married to legendary actress Mary Twala until his death. He is the father of famed choreographer Somizi Mhlongo and grandfather of actress Bahumi Madisakwane.
