Linda Mtoba (born 11 November 1991) is a South African actress who rose to fame after being cast as Zama the teenage daughter of a Durban taxi boss, Judas Ngwenya (Menzi Ngubane), on the series Isibaya.


Life and Career

Linda Mtoba was born on 11 November 1991 in the township of Umlazi near the city of Durban in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. She was raised by a single mother, after the passing of her father when she was 13 years old. Mtoba became her brother’s disciplinarian and protector, who is 8 years younger to her. Mtoba was a lower primary school teacher before she became famous. She taught IsiZulu until a friend encouraged her to audition for the Isibaya open casting call.

In 2016 she was cast as Zama Ngwenya a daughter of a ruthless and feared taxi boss, Judas Ngwenya (Menzi Ngubane) from KwaMashu, Beauty Ngwenya (Thuli Thabethe) and sister of Qaphela (Abdul Khoza). In 2018 Linda was on 1Magic’s hit telenovela The River, playing the character Nomonde - alongside Moshidi Motshegwa, Hlomla Dandala, and Sindi Dlathu.
