JR (born Tabure Thabo Bogopa Junior on 12 March 1987) is a South African rapper, songwriter, record producer and television personality. He is best known for his 2009 hist song Show Dem (Make The Circle Bigger) featuring the late HHP. JR is also known for his exploits on reality television competitions.

Television Career

JR was a celebrity contestant on the third season of the etv reality competition show, Tropika Island of Treasure alongside Bonang Matheba, Dionne Song, Khanyi Mbau, Loyiso Gola, Snotkop, and former Miss South Africa Tatum Keshwar as well as six fans (six other non-celebrity people). He went all the way won the season earning R1 million in the process.

In 2016 JR served as a choirmaster on the third season of the Mzansi Magic reality competition, Clash of the Choirs, alongside fellow celebrity choirmasters; Kelly Khumalo, and IFani with Rebecca Malope, Anele Mdoda and Zwai Bala serving as judges andLawrence Maleka as host. JR guided his Mpumalanga choir to victory and R1 million prize money ahead of Kelly Khumalo's Gauteng choir.

JR as a judge on the second and third season on the SABC 1 freestyle rap-battle reality competition television series, One Mic, alongside Big Zulu and Aewon Wolf with Bontle Modiselle and Anele Zondo serving as hosts for each season respectively.

Personal Life

JR is in a relationship with South African media personality, Tshepi Vundla. Together, they have a son named Sibabalwe Lehakwe Bogopa born in September 2017.
