Regardt van den Bergh (born 2 September 1952) is a South African filmmaker, director, producer, writer and actor. He acted alongside his father Gert Van den Bergh in the 1968 Jans Rautenbach film Die Kandidaat which was later censored by the government of the time due to the perception that it was critical of the Apartheid System. Regardt van den Bergh portrayed Magnus Malan, a central military figure during the final years of Apartheid South Africa, in the 1997 television film Mandela and de Klerk starring Sidney Poitier as Nelson Mandela and Michael Caine as F. W. de Klerk with Tina Lifford as Winnie Madikizela-Mandela. In recent years he directed films such as Faith Like Potatoes and Hansie, a film chronicling the story of South African cricketer Hansie Cronje and his involvement with Indian bookmakers and the resulting fallout and fall from grace.
