Kim Engelbrecht (born 20 June 1980) is a South African actress best known for her portrayal of Lolly de Klerk i on the SABC 3 flagship soap opera, Isidingo. Early on in her career she presented the SABC 1 youth educational program Take 5 (1999 - 2004), was part of the Pure Monate Show and appeared on Zero Tolerance. In recent years she has appeared on numerous international productions including Death Race 3: Inferno, Mad Dogs, SAF3, Dominion, Eye in the Sky and The Flash.

Early Life and Career

Kim Engelbrecht was born Kim Suzanne Engelbrecht on 20 June 1980 in Belhar, Cape Town in the Western Cape of South Africa. She is one of four siblings. Kim Engelbrecht attended Valhalla Primary School and later went to Belhar Secondary School.

At the age of 12 Kim Engelbrecht starred in 1994 film, Sarahsarà, about Sarah Gadalla Gubara’s swim from Capri to Napoli. She was among the earlier presenters of the e.tv youth programming block Craz-e at the then lesser known fledgling television station. She was later head hunted by the SABC to host their educational youth programme, Take 5, which aired on SABC 1.

As the 90s drew to a close, Kim Engelbrecht joined the SABC 3 flagship soap opera as the troubled teen, Lolly van Onselen, a role she portrayed for many years and became quite known for in South Africa more than any of her other work. She went on to work on the hit comedy, The Pure Monate Show, as writer and performer with the likes of Kagiso Lediga, Loyiso Gola, David Kibuuka, Riaad Moosa, Joey Rasdien and David Kau.
