He was a professional soccer player whose career ended after he got an injury that could not heal and he opted out. The injury could not heal and he had to stop playing. He won the [[SABC1]] reality competition [[Sokka Kings]] in 2005 and was the given the opportunity to train for a week overseas with the English Premiership club Tottenham Hotspur, a one-year contract with Highlands Cape Town and a sports management contract. He later joined [[Ajax Cape Town]] but had to cut his career short after a injury.

Eric Macheru (born 25 February 1986) is a South African actor most famous for acting as Leeto Maputla the son of Meikie Maputla (Harriet Manamela)and John Maputla (Africa Tsoai) and the older brother of Thabo Maputla (Cornet Mamabolo) in the soap, Skeem Saam

Football
